Conditions you must meet
- Pay and conditions at least matching Swedish collective agreements or industry practiceTranslation: your salary and other employment conditions must be at least at the level of Swedish collective agreements, or what is customary in the occupation or industry.
- Your employer must hold health, life, security and occupational pension insurance for youTranslation: the employer must have taken out health insurance, life insurance, security insurance and occupational pension insurance for you when the employment begins. An employer obligation the applicant is nonetheless judged on.
- Employment of a year or less requires comprehensive health insurance covering your whole stayTranslation: if your employment will last at most one year, you must have — or have applied for — comprehensive health insurance valid for your whole time in Sweden, covering emergency and other medical care, hospital stays, emergency dental care and repatriation for medical reasons.
- Monthly salary at least 90% of Sweden's published median wageTranslation: you must have a monthly salary amounting to at least 90 per cent of the median wage published by Statistics Sweden (SCB) and in force when you applied.
- At least SEK 34,470 per monthSEK 34,470 per monthTranslation: to meet the salary requirement you must have a monthly salary of at least SEK 34,470 — 90 per cent of the current median wage SCB publishes each June. - Your salary may need to be higher than the minimum to match collective agreementsTranslation: your monthly salary must also be at the level of collective agreements or industry practice, which means it may need to be higher than 90 per cent of the median wage. Recorded so the SEK 34,470 figure is never read as sufficient on its own.
- One employment must meet the requirements — two or more cannot be combinedTranslation: you cannot hold two or more employments that together satisfy the requirements. Excerpt begins mid-word where Migrationsverket's own sentence is split by page structure.
