Conditions you must meet
- Up to 90 days for business activities — meetings, negotiating or signing agreements
- No work of any kind, paid or unpaid, for 15 days or longer
- No reliance on Irish public services
- Any work must start and end within a single 14-day periodISD's worked example: 7 days of work, a 10-day gap, then 7 more does NOT qualify — that needs the atypical working scheme and a short stay employment visa instead.
- You cannot work more than once during the 90-day periodISD's worked example: 14 days of work, leaving Ireland for a month, then returning for another 14 is NOT permitted on this visa even though each block is under 14 days.
- A visa permits travel to Ireland, not entry — an officer may still refuseRecorded so an approved visa is never presented as guaranteed entry.
- Each traveller must apply separately
- There is no minimum amount of money requiredSame as Ireland's visit visa: the absence of a threshold is itself the rule, and recording it explicitly stops a figure being borrowed from another destination.
Documents you must provide
- Current passport valid at least 6 months after you plan to leave IrelandSix months here, against twelve on Ireland's long term study visa. Quoted from each page rather than assumed to match.
- Photocopy of every page of all previous passports
- Two passport-sized colour photographs, signed and numbered on the back
- A letter describing your travel plan if you route through a third countryISD warns the Irish application may be refused if the passport does not contain the visas expected for those countries.
- Proof of permission to be in the country you apply from, valid 3 months beyond your departure
- An original bank statement on headed paper covering the last 6 monthsISD requires it to show your name and address, account number and type, and money in and out over the last 6 months.
