Conditions you must meet

• Employment must meet the conditions of one of five tracksQuoted with all five named, because the conditions below apply per track and not to the scheme as a whole.

  Your employment must meet the conditions for one of the Fast-Track Scheme’s five tracks: The pay limit track. The supplementary pay limit track. The short-term track. The researcher track. The educational track.

• The employer must be certified by SIRIThe one condition common to every track.

  It is a requirement that your employer is certified by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI).

• You must grant your employer power of attorney to apply on your behalf

  You must grant your employer power of attorney to handle the application on your behalf.

• Pay limit track: annual salary of at least DKK 552,000 (2026)DKK 552,000 minimum annual salary

  It is a condition that you have been offered a job with an annual salary that corresponds to at least the pay limit amount. The pay limit amount for 2026 is DKK 552,000. The pay limit amount is regulated every year on 1 January.

• Pay limit track: which salary components count

  When SIRI has to assess whether you have been offered a salary that corresponds to at least the pay limit amount, only the following salary components can be taken into account: Cash salary, including fixed supplements which therefore are guaranteed salary

• Pay limit track: the salary condition holds even if you take holiday without pay

  You must meet the condition of an annual salary that corresponds to at least the pay limit amount even if you take holiday without pay.

• Pay limit track: canteen, car, phone, internet and housing do not count

  Your employer can offer you, as a supplement to your salary, benefits such as paid canteen, free use of car, paid phone, paid internet and paid living and housing expenses. Note that these salary components cannot be taken into account when assessing whether your salary corresponds to the pay limit amount.

• Full-time work, as a rule 37 to 40 hours a weekA different hours test from the Pay Limit Scheme's 30-hour floor.

  It is a condition that you work full time. As a rule, this mean 37-40 working hours a week.

• The pay limit must be met regardless of the number of working hours

  The condition that your salary corresponds to a least the pay limit amount must be met regardless of the number of work hours.

• The job must not be covered by a legal labour dispute

  A residence and work permit cannot be granted for a job that is covered by a legal labour dispute. A permit can be given for other jobs in a company affected by a dispute if these jobs are not covered by the conflict according to the rules of labour law.

• A Danish authorisation is required for regulated professions

  In some instances, it is required that you have a Danish authorisation or a temporary authorisation for employment for adaption and training purposes before you can be granted a residence and work permit.

• An accompanying family member must not have had a permit revoked more than once for lacking a work permit

  It is a condition that your spouse, cohabiting partner, child or any other family member, who holds a residence permit as an accompanying family member, must not have had his or her residence permit revoked more than once due to the lack of a required specific work permit.

• Supplementary pay limit track: annual salary of at least DKK 446,000 (2026)DKK 446,000 minimum annual salaryA lower threshold than the pay limit track — and the one that carries the unemployment and job-posting conditions.

  It is a condition that you have been offered a job with an annual salary that corresponds to at least the supplementary pay limit amount. The supplementary pay limit amount for 2026 is DKK 446,000. The pay limit amount is regulated every year on 1 January.

• Supplementary pay limit track: which salary components count

  When SIRI has to assess whether you have been offered a salary that corresponds to at least the pay limit amount, only the following salary components can be taken into account: Cash salary, including fixed supplements which therefore are guaranteed salary Payments to labour market pension schemes, including pension contributions paid by the employer and contributions paid by the applicant Paid holiday allowance

• Supplementary track: national gross unemployment must not have exceeded 3.75% over the prior 3 monthsA condition on the Danish economy, not on the applicant or the employer.

  It is a condition that the seasonally adjusted gross unemployment has not exceeded 3.75 pct. on average in the 3 months prior to applying.

• Supplementary track: the job must have been posted on Jobnet AND EURES for at least 2 weeks before applying

  It is a condition that the job position offered has been posted on Jobnet and the EURES portal for at least 2 weeks before you apply for a residence and work permit at SIRI.

• The posting must not, as a rule, be more than six months oldA ceiling as well as a floor — an old advert fails just as a fresh one does.

  As a rule, the job position must not have been posted for more than six months before you apply for a residence and work permit. SIRI calculates the six months starting from the day the job is created on Jobnet and the EURES portal.

• Posting on other portals does NOT satisfy the conditionStated flatly by the authority, and unrecoverable once the application is in.

  If the job position is posted on other portals, this condition will not be met.

• The posting condition applies even if you already hold a Danish work permit for another job

  Note that this is a condition even though you already have a residence and work permit in Denmark based on another job position. If you submit a new application before the position has been posted for at least two weeks, you will not fulfil this condition.

• Short-term track: a permit for up to 90 days

  With a short-term stay you can be granted a residence and work permit for up to 90 days.

• Researcher track: there must be specific research-related reasons for the position

  There must be specific research-related reasons for offering you the position as a researcher. This means that the position must be closely connected to you and that the main purpose of your stay must be to do research.

• Researcher track: guest researchers and PhD students are NOT included

  Please note, that guest researchers and PhD students are not included in the research track.

• Educational track: to receive or to give highly qualified training at the certified companyBoth purposes quoted, because the track covers trainee and trainer alike.

  If you are a highly qualified foreign national with significant work experience within a certain professional field, the educational track is of relevance to you, provided that: the purpose of your stay in Denmark is to receive highly qualified training in the certified company, or the purpose is that you will be training other employees in the certified company at a highly qualified level.

• The application must be submitted online by the employer

  An application for a residence and work permit under the Fast-Track Scheme must be submitted online by your employer.

• A visa-required national without a valid visa cannot enter Denmark legally

  If you are a citizen in a country with a visa requirement and if you do not have a valid visa , you cannot enter Denmark legally.

Documents you must provide

• The employer must attach documentation of the Jobnet and EURES posting

  Your employer must therefore attach documentation that the job position has been posted on Jobnet and the EURES portal for at least 2 weeks prior to applying. SIRI will run spot-checks to verify whether the documentation is correct.

• Later movement in the unemployment rate does not affect a submitted application

  Whether the level of the seasonally adjusted gross unemployment is regulated after you have submitted the application, has no impact on your application.

• Quick job start: a provisional work permit the day after the employer applies, at the earliest, for visa-free nationals

  If you are visa-free , SIRI will give you a provisionary work permit the day after your employer has send an application, at the earliest. For this to happen, you must meet all of the necessary requirements, SIRI's citizen centre must be open and there must be availlable appointments for you to book right away.

• Visa-required nationals: a decision as a rule in about 10 days

  If you are required to have a visa , SIRI will, as a rule, make a decision concerning your case in about 10 days after we have received your application. However, this only happens if your employer has sent us all the necessary information in the application, if you have paid your fee and if you have had your biometric features recorded.

• Normal processing time, and the longer time if information is missing

  Normal processing time 1 month If further information is needed, the processing time can be up to 2 months

• Supplementary pay limit track: a longer processing time of its ownTwo months normally against one, and four against two. Publishing only the headline figure would understate this track by half.
